2006 SMART ASS ANSWERS OF THE YEAR

Over the next few issues we will count down to the NUMBER ONE answer.

    NUMBER 6:

It was mealtime during a flight on Hooters Airline.  "Would you like dinner?" the flight attendant asked John, seated in front.
"What are my choices?" John asked.
    "Yes or no," she replied.

    NUMBER 5:

A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets.
As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her.

Without missing a beat, she said,

"Sir, I need to see your ticket not your stub."

This is the April 2007 edition of the WESTLAKE TOWN CRIERS NEWLETTER.  Here are some highlights from the  past few meetings:

    3/19/07

    • Al Psota finalized the procedures for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Also, all the members present worked on making up the Easter baskets and prepared the boxes of candy for the hunt.
    • The idea of helping pay for and installing a big screen TV in the hall was not well received by the FOP. The idea was dropped.
    • There were 21 members present, and Steve Kozyk’s name was drawn, but he was not present. Steve missed out on $48.
  • 4/2/07
    • The final numbers are in for the Reverse Raffle. We made a profit of $8816.28.  Once again, Thanks to Nick Hillman and all those who helped make this a success.
    • The Easter Egg Hunt was a tremendous success with about 25 Town Criers showing up to help.  The estimates of children ranged from 700 to 1000.  Counting parents, there had to be close to 1500 in attendance. As it was, we ran out of candy for the 3 and group. Last year there were 55 children there in this age group, and this year we had 155. Thanks to Al Psota for coordinating this event.  Also, a special THANKS to Tony Difranco for donating candy and John Meno for supplying stuffed animals to handout.
    • There were 21 members present, and Chuck George’s name was drawn AGAIN.  Chuck was present and walked away with $69.
  • 4/16/07
    • We were visited by several Boy Scouts of Troop 208.  One of the scouts, Matt Dixon, is working on his Eagle Scout Badge.  Matt and his fellow scouts gave a presentation concerning the dire need for blood donations.  He is working with the Red Cross and has set-up a Blood Drive for May 6th from 11:00 to 3:00 at the Bay Police Station.   For more information you can contact Matt after 4:00 most days at 440-333-5284.
  • There was quite a bit of discussion concerning the Easter Egg Hunt and its budget. We had budgeted $1400 (an increase of $200 over the 2006 budgeted amount) and we when all is done we will have spent approximately $1800. We have to keep that in mind when working on next year’s budget.

The new balance as of April 16th is $11,076.44.

There were 26 members present, and Jim Hurd’s name was drawn.  Fortunately for us, Jim was not present and the “POT” grows.

Knowing the type of men we are, one of our members provided a Web Site that we should try to avoid.  The Site is  www.yourfilehost.com

The Golf League weekly statistics will be published on the Town Criers WEB Site: www.westlaketowncriers.com Click on Golf League to get info.  The entry fee is $75 and should be paid to either Bruce or Rich by May 2nd which is the first night of the league. Also, we are trying very hard to schedule the End-of-Year outing for September 22nd.  More to follow.
