January 5th meeting:

Treasurer’s Report: Prior Balance: $ 4250.13 New balance: $ 2279.68

- Thank you from Westlake City Schools for donation to the Volleyball Program
- Thank you from Girl Scout troop #422
- Thank you from the White family
Announcements:
- Still have Reverse Raffle tickets to sell. See Tim White.
- The Christmas luncheon was a success. Approximate 30 members showed up
Committee Reports:
- Golf league - outings for this year have been arranged. The mid-yr will be at Pine Brook July 15th. The end-of-yr info to follow.
Old Business: NONE
New Business:
- The 2009 proposed Budget was passed out for review and discussion. The Budget was approved as presented.
- The President is looking for someone to keep the food locker stocked with supplies (napkins, plates, silverware, etc), including beer, pop and snacks.
Round Table:
- There was some discussion to start-up the volunteer list for bringing in food. More discussion is needed.
- Membership for the golf league was discussed. The discussion concerned non club members belonging to the golf league.

- Thank you from Westlake Service Dept. employees for the luncheon we provided.
- Thank you from the Westlake Center for Community Services for the donation Senior Men’s morning breakfast get together.
Announcements:
- Avon Oaks is holding a Super Bowl party. The cost is $45. See Mike Aerni if you are interested in attending.
- A big THANK YOU went out to Kohl Schneider for his efforts in insuring that the Westlake Service Dept. employees’ luncheon was a big success.
Committee Reports:
- Golf league - Cost is $75. EOY Outing is at Spring Valley CC on Sept. 19th. Mid-yr is at Pine Brook on July 15th.
- Easter Egg Hunt – The event will be held on April 4th.
- Poker - The TEXAS-HOLDEM tournament is tentatively scheduled for late March around College Basketball’s Final Four tournament.

- John Bellflower has volunteered to work with Chuck George and keep the food locker stocked with supplies (napkins, plates, silverware, etc), including beer, pop and snacks.

- The Reverse Raffle is Friday, March 6th. If you haven’t already got your ticket for the Reverse Raffle, see Tim White. For those who haven’t turned in ticket money yet, Tim would like you to do so ASAP.

- The January meetings are history. There were 20 members at each meeting – not a good showing. Let’s all make a concerted effort to attend more of the meetings. As an organization we do good “things” for the community and with everyone’s renewed spirit, we can continue to be a viable organization for the community.
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE – “ONE LINERS”
The closest I ever got to a 4.0 in college was my blood alcohol content.
Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them.
If God had intended for man to use the metric system, Jesus would have only had ten disciples!
I have learned there is little difference in wives - you might as well keep the first.
If life deals you lemons, make lemonade; if it deals you tomatoes, make Bloody-Marys.
I am a nobody, nobody is perfect, and therefore I am perfect.
Every day I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive.
The most precious thing we have is life. Yet it has absolutely no trade-in value.
I don't approve of political jokes...I've seen too many of them get elected.
If women can have PMS, then men can have ESPN.
