Here are some highlights from the past 2 meetings:

11/5/07

There was a discussion concerning the Reverse Raffle. It was decided to hold the 2008 Reverse Raffle at St. Demetrios Church in Rocky River. Tim White volunteered to co-chair this event with Nick Hillman this year. The date of the event will be March 7^th, and the cost will be $75. Tickets would probably be available at the next meeting.
Plans for the Nov. 19^th Texas-Holdem fund raiser were finalized by the co-chairs, Jim Wang and Jeff Zemito.
A new member, Gary Eckert, joined. Welcome, Gary.
There were 28 members present but there was no drawing. The money will be carried over for the next meeting.

12/3/07

Nick Hillman handed out Reverse Raffle tickets to those at the meeting requesting them. He indicated that he held 100 tickets back for Al Smith, our largest seller.
The Texas-Holdem tournament raised approximately $2300. Good job Jim and Jeff.
A new member, Gordon Justen, joined. Welcome, Gordon.
The treasurer reported that the current balance on hand is $6,918.08.
Committee chairpersons were reminded that they are to provide duties, tasks and a timeline of their committee by Dec. 17^th, the last meeting in Dec.
Officers were reminded that they are to document all their duties and responsibilities and provide that by Dec. 17^th, the last meeting in Dec.
Congratulations to Richard and Mary Levtzow for being named Mr. and Mrs. Westlake for 2008.
The Mr. and Mrs. Westlake announcement did not go as planned. When it became “our” time for the presentation, somehow we got skipped. John Lusardo tried to get the MC’s attention, but by the time John got on stage SANTA was on his way. Our presentation of Mr. and Mrs. Westlake to the community was “short changed”. This will probably be a discussion item for our next meeting.
There will be no Christmas Party this year. It seems that volunteers are hard to find.
There will be a Christmas Luncheon. It will be held on Friday, Dec. 28^th^{, at Dover Gardens starting at 1:00. We requested that the kitchen remain open until 3:30 so the late comers can get something to eat. Hope to see you all there.}
The first reading of the new slate of officers is as follows:

At the next meeting the second reading and final vote on the new slate of Officers will take place.
There were 21 members present, and Tom Winar’s name was drawn. Tom was not present so the pot now stands at $72.
